Welcome

Our mission is to carry on the three-fold ministry of Jesus Christ--preaching the Good News, building up a community of believers and serving others as He did, especially those most in need.  All are welcome to join us in this mission.

Those who are new to our parish are cordially invited to make their presence known by introducing themselves to Father after Mass and by contacting the Rectory office during the week to register so that we can be of better service to you.

Please join us for worship

With the start of the new liturgical year (back in the season of Advent) English speaking Roman Catholics around the world began using the Revised Roman Missal. Read all about the revised translation of the Roman Missal     here.

New York's Catholic Church - How We Serve

On the Celebration of the Eucharist

“The oblation, by which, in this very memorial, the Church, in particular that gathered here and now, offers the unblemished sacrificial Victim in the Holy Spirit to the Father. The Church’s intention, indeed, is that the faithful not only offer this unblemished sacrificial Victim but also learn to offer their very selves, and so day by day to be brought, through the mediation of Christ, into unity with God and with each other, so that God may at last be all in all."       ¾ General Instruction of the Roman Missal ( #79-f )

The Baptism of Jesus

Through Baptism the Christian is sacramentally assimilated to Jesus, who in his own baptism anticipates his death and resurrection. The Christian must enter into this mystery of humble self-abasement and repentance, go down into the water with Jesus in order to rise with him, be reborn of water and the Spirit so as to become the Father's beloved son in the Son and "walk in newness of life":

Let us be buried with Christ by Baptism to rise with him; let us go down with him to be raised with him; and let us rise with him to be glorified with him.

Everything that happened to Christ lets us know that, after the bath of water, the Holy Spirit swoops down upon us from high heaven and that, adopted by the Father's voice, we become sons of God.
